One of the wonderful things about Taurus is how much encouragement they provide to their employees to learn and grow. With the Learning Levels Program, we are able to expand our knowledge and increase our awareness in order to excel at what we do. This program has been a key component in assisting us in creating happy households. With this opportunity to grow, Taurus maintains its progressive nature and is constantly willing to evolve. It makes me proud to be a part of an organization that pushes me to be the best that I can be. I'm excited to see what the future holds for Taurus!

Our Rosedale campus houses our learning center and administrative offices. Taurus’ learning center is a hotbed of new ideas, where we dialogue, discuss, learn, and grow. While we do not have dogs at this location, we are happy to answer training inquiries and direct you to one of our other facilities.
Definitely a ‘big picture’ guy, William inspires and pushes the Pack to continually learn and grow; through study, self-reflection, and reinvention. William started up Taurus in college, while pursuing degrees in Philosophy and English at UT. His training roots go back to a hunting dog facility outside of Tyler, TX. The kennel owner, a prominent gun dog trainer and field trial judge, recognized William’s talent early on, and put him through an intense and thorough apprenticeship in obedience and gun dog training. William worked throughout high school and college training hundreds of dogs and competing in field trials. William is one of those people who read 12 books at a time. He is also a private pilot, loves Barton Springs, walking the hike and bike trail, and his own dog, Simon.

Melanie met William in 1994 when her two dogs were out of control. She was so impressed, they soon went into business together. Never envisioning ending up an entrepreneur, Melanie has degrees in History/Classical Civilization from UT, a Masters in Environmental Ethics and Philosophy from UNT, and attended UT Law School. Melanie focuses on the development of the Taurus Pack in training and operations. She also spends time giving back to the Austin community by serving in a variety of volunteer positions, including: Emancipet Board of Directors, whose mission is to improve the lives of pets and their owners by providing high quality, high volume spay/neuter surgeries and wellness services free or for a low cost. Off Leash Area Advisory Committee Member, a committee of citizen volunteers that advises the Austin Parks and Recreation Department on matters relating to off leash areas and dogs on parkland. Queen b with the b club, a group that raises emergency funds for breast cancer victims and survivors. When she’s not working with various non-profits, Melanie is reading, gardening (she’s often accused of being a plant addict), scuba diving, traveling, practicing yoga, or training for sprint triathlons.
Owner & CNO
Before joining Taurus in 2007, Shivani spent much of her personal and professional life in the company of books. Being surrounded by dogs and helping their owners has been an exciting change, and a challenge at which she has excelled. In her free time, Shivani still relishes a good read, dinner parties with friends, or time on the couch with her own menagerie. A native Austinite, Shivani also enjoys Austin’s parks and trails.
With a B.S. in Zoology, a lot of experience, and a tremendous amount of talent, Wallace is often called upon to mentor the rest of the Taurus Pack regarding training and behavior. Wallace loves staying close to the heart of downtown and enjoying all it has to offer. Wallace has 3 dogs of his own, and a "dog in a cat suit” named July. When not involved with dogs (which is pretty much all the time), Wallace can usually be found in the company of good friends.

Originally from Massachusetts, Jeff has been with Taurus since 2010. Jeff has a strong background in psychology and received his Master's in Biology. He utilizes both in his training work, and appreciates that this combined experience has led to positive training results and a fuller appreciation of animal behavior. He enjoys board and card games, hiking, and marathon viewings of TV shows on Netflix.
VP of Operations
Tanya shares her home with 4 dogs, her husband Ryan, and their two handsome boys: Declan and Connor. When she’s not at Taurus, Tanya’s life consists of all things kids: she handles everything from cleaning up the clutter to teaching them to be loving, respectful humans! Tanya considers Taurus her second family; when she’s here she doesn’t feel like she’s at work. Tanya has been with Taurus since 2003.
Accounting & HR
Kristine has been with Taurus since 2004, and earned her B.S. in Biology with a minor in Psychology from Texas State University. A native Austinite, Kristine loves how Austin is “super laid back. Most people are open minded, and there is always something to do.” Kristine loves Taurus because she has always been interested in dog behavior and grew up with dogs, so has integrated them into her life.
Growth & Development
Angie moved to Austin from Killeen, TX to go to school and find new opportunities. We’re so glad she found Taurus! Angie loves that, at Taurus, she can make such a positive impact in our clients’ homes. She loves watching the progress the dogs make and how happy it makes their families. When she’s not studying graphic design, Angie enjoys free time with her friends having a beer on a patio somewhere.
When Katie’s husband got a job offer in Austin, they both jumped at the chance to move here from their native Madison, WI! Katie brought her love of painting and the outdoors with her, and when she’s not working on an art project you can find her and her Corgi/Lab mix, Maddie, on the Green Belt. Katie is passionate about helping people learn how to train their animals.
Gertrude Louise McGillicuddy Drinkall is the resident Play Officer at the Rosedale office. She was born in Bastrop, but grew up at the Woodrow location. She is glad we moved to Rosedale, which she’s pretty sure was because everyone wanted her to have a doggy door. Her favorite activities include greeting everyone who enters a room, playing appropriately with dogs of all sizes, and sleeping in beds (and laps!) that are “too small” for her. She and her cat, Judd Nelson, like to bug Gertie’s older sisters and eat shoes.
